Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Akbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Devon Knight will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hunter Akbar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Knight!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight misses with a looping left.

It looks like Hunter Akbar has been cut.

Akbar rushes Knight and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Akbar is on top in guard.
Akbar wants to pass the guard but Knight is keeping the position.

Akbar is pulling down on Knight's head. It's preventing any offense from Knight, at least for the moment.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Akbar turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Knight swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Knight leaves Akbar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Akbar is trying to trip Knight. He has hold of a leg but Knight is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Akbar persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

No joy there for Knight, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
