Ivanovits comes into the arena with The Odorants - This Night blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Vihtala's choice of entrance music: Pohjois-Karjala. Sergei Ivanovits could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kaarlo Vihtala's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vihtala chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ivanovits can pounce on him.
Vihtala clinches up with Ivanovits and pushes him back against the cage.
Ivanovits struggles to land a body shot inside as Vihtala controls his hands.

Ivanovits is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Vihtala is defending well for now.

Vihtala feints and then cracks Ivanovits's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ivanovits down.

That has opened up Kaarlo Vihtala's cut even more.

Vihtala lands a lovely overhand right.
Ivanovits lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Vihtala avoids the body shot from Ivanovits.
Ivanovits gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Vihtala counters with a nice kick to the body.
Ivanovits is breathing heavily.
Ivanovits on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vihtala. Vihtala obviously looking to wear him down.
Vihtala cracks Ivanovits with an uppercut from hell and Ivanovits crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Vihtala's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Ivanovits is rocked!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Vihtala gets to his feet and stands over Ivanovits, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Ivanovits felt that one! Vihtala unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Ivanovits from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kaarlo Vihtala!
After winning the bout, Kaarlo Vihtala thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
