PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Whitecoat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whitecoat has chosen Seven Nation Army as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Whitecoat sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hall throws a left and a right that both miss
and Whitecoat counters with a two punch combo.
Whitecoat on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
No joy there for Hall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hall digs a good body shot into Whitecoat's ribs.

Hall has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Hall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Whitecoat.
Hall throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Hall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Whitecoat manages to avoid it.
Hall throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Whitecoat.
Whitecoat will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hall cracks Whitecoat with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hall enables Whitecoat to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hall manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Whitecoat lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Whitecoat must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Whitecoat's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hall stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hall pushes Whitecoat away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Whitecoat gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Ben Hall will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hall connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Whitecoat's hands.

Hall shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Whitecoat eats them both and turns towards Hall to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
