Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darren Sparks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Monthan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monthan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sparks tries to avoid it but Monthan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sparks to the ground. Sparks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Monthan tries to close the distance and clinch but Sparks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sparks connects with a single shot there.
Sparks lands an overhand right.
Sparks fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Monthan, pushing him back against the cage.
Sparks breaks the clinch.
Monthan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sparks's waist but Sparks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Monthan off to one side.
Monthan wants to clinch but Sparks slips to the side
and Sparks counters with a straight right hand.
Monthan is rocked!
It looks like Larry Monthan has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sparks is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Sparks shuts the power down on Monthan. Lights out, game over! Sparks is your winner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Darren Sparks!
