Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 2, fighting out of New York, James Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Alex Cole!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a hook
and Cole cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cole.
Jones misses the shot to the body.
Cole throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cole slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
A telegraphed right hand from Cole misses the target.
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cole stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cole throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Cole slips under a jab from Jones.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Knees in the clinch landing for Cole.
Jones lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cole backwards.
Jones blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jones just leaning against Cole, taking a breather.
Jones misses with a body punch.
Cole misses with some punches.
Jones misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Cole is looking for a takedown.
A short body shot lands from Jones as the two fighters clinch.
Jones misses with a punch to the body.

Cole throws a head punch that misses.
Jones lands with a right to the head.

Cole blocks a body shot from Jones.
Cole tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jones avoids it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cole breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cole throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.
Cole takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Cole throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Cole takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Cole bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jones jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jones checks the leg kick nicely there.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Jones lands a nice looking body shot.
Cole throws a big shot that misses.

Jones getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Cole shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.
Jones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cole.
Cole gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cole tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Cole is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jones.


It looks like Alex Cole has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cole.

Cole wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cole is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jones is defending well.

Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cole looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
