Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Tharis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tharis comes to the cage accompanied by Burning down the house. Gump has chosen Fucking Hostile - Pantera as his entrance music. Jon Tharis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gump chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tharis can pounce on him.
Gump ducks under a wild hook from Tharis.
Gump shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tharis as he avoids it easily.

Tharis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gump connects with a right hand. Tharis shakes it off.
Tharis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gump misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jon Tharis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba Gump.

Tharis wants to break free but Gump has control.

Tharis digs a right hand underneath Gump's ribcage. Gump let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Tharis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gump shoots for a double leg takedown but Tharis sprawls well. He's pushed Gump's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gump fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tharis avoids it really well and circles away.

Tharis lunges at Gump with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gump's hand.

Tharis is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Tharis cracks Gump with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tharis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tharis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gump scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Tharis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Tharis stands and salutes the crowd.
