Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mr Funktastic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John The Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Pitbull is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Three 6 Mafia - It's a Fight. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Mr Funktastic!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, John The Pitbull!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Pitbull fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The Pitbull fails with a takedown attempt.
The Pitbull has his takedown stuffed
and Funktastic counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Mr Funktastic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John The Pitbull.
The Pitbull defending well as Funktastic loads up on a big left hand.
The Pitbull tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Funktastic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Funktastic. No joy for The Pitbull on that attempt.
The Pitbull gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Funktastic cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like John The Pitbull has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Funktastic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
John The Pitbull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Pitbull feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The Pitbull being controlled here momentarily.

The Pitbull postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Funktastic is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Pitbull, into his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The Pitbull had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Funktastic defends it easily.
Funktastic missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The Pitbull is looking to stand up but Funktastic isn't so interested in that idea.
Funktastic throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The Pitbull works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Funktastic in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The Pitbull is trying to control the position but Funktastic postures up.
The Pitbull wants to stand up but Funktastic is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Funktastic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The Pitbull wants to stand and escape but Funktastic is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Funktastic throws a big right hand that misses.
The Pitbull keeping full guard, as Funktastic tries to pass.

Funktastic has gone for a leg lock! The Pitbull slips out almost immediately though and dives into Funktastic's guard.
The Pitbull postures up and lands a big shot to Funktastic's brow.
Funktastic trying to keep a closed guard but The Pitbull is proving a slippery customer.
The Pitbull stands up over Funktastic, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The Pitbull thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Funktastic trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Funktastic is pulling down on The Pitbull's head to control his posture.
Funktastic wants to stand but The Pitbull is controlling the position.
The Pitbull wants to stand and escape but instead Funktastic has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Funktastic wants to pass the guard but The Pitbull is keeping the position.
Funktastic postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Funktastic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Funktastic postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The Pitbull looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Funktastic makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mr Funktastic will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on John The Pitbull's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


The Pitbull has his takedown stuffed
and Funktastic counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Funktastic fakes high and swings low for a body shot but The Pitbull manages to avoid it.
The Pitbull doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Funktastic counters with a nice uppercut.
Funktastic tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Pitbull sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Funktastic somewhat.
The fighters circling - Funktastic throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Funktastic attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
The Pitbull tries to close the distance and clinch up but Funktastic swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Funktastic manages to get an easy takedown there - catching The Pitbull on his heels. He'll look to pass The Pitbull's guard now, I'm sure.
Funktastic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Funktastic landing some decent shots from guard.
Funktastic throwing strikes from guard but The Pitbull blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The Pitbull working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Funktastic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Funktastic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Funktastic connects with a couple of short punches.
Funktastic missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The Pitbull working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Funktastic.
Funktastic trying to control the position from guard on top but The Pitbull is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Funktastic has gone for a leg lock! The Pitbull slips out almost immediately though and dives into Funktastic's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Funktastic wriggles free and stands up.
A slapping leg kick lands for Funktastic.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Funktastic. Those never looked like landing.
Funktastic defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Pitbull.
Mr Funktastic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John The Pitbull.
Funktastic loads up on a big right hand but The Pitbull slips the punch.
Funktastic swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from The Pitbull is defended easily by Funktastic.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Funktastic misses with a low kick.
The Pitbull shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Funktastic sprawls well. Funktastic wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. The Pitbull gets slowly back to his feet.
Funktastic connects with a good right hand that stumbles The Pitbull. The Pitbull circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Funktastic dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on John The Pitbull's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Funktastic counters with a two punch combo.

The Pitbull closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The Pitbull is fighting off a takedown attempt but Funktastic is just too persistent for him and manages to trip The Pitbull to the mat. The Pitbull regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Funktastic trying to move into half guard but instead The Pitbull has managed to sweep!
Funktastic is trying to keep The Pitbull in close.

Funktastic has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. The Pitbull doesn't defend quickly enough and Funktastic has managed to lock this one up! Can The Pitbull escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Funktastic on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mr Funktastic!
