Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grigori Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasputin has chosen Bas Beats as his entrance music. Peter Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grigori Rasputin!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rasputin throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Rasputin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Rasputin sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rasputin throws a head kick that misses.

It looks like Peter Gracie has been cut.

Gracie avoids a kick to the body.
Gracie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rasputin tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rasputin to the ground. Rasputin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gracie uses his free foot to push down on Rasputin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rasputin.

That was a close second round but I would say that Peter Gracie will probably get the nod.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Rasputin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Rasputin which made him look bad.
Rasputin lands with a kick to the temple. Gracie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Rasputin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gracie. That did some damage!

Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rasputin but Rasputin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rasputin.

Rasputin thows a body kick. Gracie tries to catch it but that hurt him.

so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rasputin is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea.

Rasputin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gracie!

Rasputin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gracie to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gracie shrugs it off.

Rasputin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gracie's head.
Rasputin tries to pass to full mount but Gracie defends it.

Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rasputin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rasputin's back!

Gracie has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Rasputin breaks Gracie's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Rasputin wanted to stand there but Gracie had control of the position.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rasputin defends it easily.
Rasputin trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rasputin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rasputin tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.
Gracie has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rasputin has passed into side control.
Gracie gets back to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rasputin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gracie defends it well.

Grigori Rasputin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rasputin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
