Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Stanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanson has chosen DKC2: Disco Train as his entrance music. Ippo Makunouchi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ippo Makunouchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Stanson!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Stanson tries a head kick but it misses.
Makunouchi lands a jab to the nose.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stanson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Makunouchi throws a big shot that misses.
Makunouchi scores with a jab. Stanson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
It looks like Steven Stanson has been cut.
Stanson swats away the attempt to clinch by Makunouchi.
Stanson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Makunouchi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Makunouchi clinches but Stanson breaks the clinch
and Stanson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Makunouchi's guard.
Stanson throwing strikes from guard but Makunouchi blocks nicely.
Makunouchi pushes Stanson off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stanson tries to clinch up
and Makunouchi counters with a nice body shot.
Good leg kick by Stanson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Stanson wants to clinch up but Makunouchi keeps it at a distance.
Makunouchi throws the left hand but Stanson avoids the punch easily.
Stanson clinches but Makunouchi breaks the clinch
and Makunouchi counters with a beautiful punch that sends Stanson to the canvas!
Makunouchi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Makunouchi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Stanson looking for a guillotine here but Makunouchi defends easily.
Stanson looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stanson has his foot on Makunouchi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Makunouchi works his way back into a safe position though.
Makunouchi gets to his feet - Stanson follows without any prompting.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Makunouchi tries to clinch but Stanson moves out of range.
Makunouchi throws a good cross that connects.
Makunouchi tries to close the distance and clinch but Stanson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Stanson seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Makunouchi shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Stanson is backing up but Makunouchi catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Stanson covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Makunouchi Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ippo Makunouchi!
