Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rousimar Palhares!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabricio Costa!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa fails in his attempt to clinch.
Costa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Palhares shoots in and gets a takedown into Costa's guard.
Costa is trying to keep Palhares in close.
Palhares is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Costa lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Palhares!
Costa trying to control but Palhares is having none of it.
Palhares manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Costa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Costa is looking to stall here but Palhares recovers full guard.
Costa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Palhares swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Palhares keeping moving, preventing Costa from controlling successfully.
Costa is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Palhares is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Costa frees his head nicely. Oh but Palhares has switched to an armbar! Costa is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
