Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Night Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Mirinda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mirko Mirinda!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mirinda shoots in looking for a takedown but Shadow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mirinda's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mirinda dives in and grabs Shadow's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shadow pushes down on Mirinda's head and hops out.
Shadow tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mirinda paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shadow throws a head kick but Mirinda moves out of range.
Mirinda is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shadow sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Night Shadow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mirko Mirinda.
Shadow tries to clinch but Mirinda moves out of range.

Mirinda gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Mirinda wants to stand and escape but Shadow is having none of it.

Shadow knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mirinda on the ground.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mirko Mirinda wasn't active enough on the ground.

Mirinda is looking for a takedown.
Shadow is working for takedown but Mirinda is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mirinda is pressed up against the cage. Shadow has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mirinda down to the mat. Mirinda avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mirinda should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Shadow is breathing heavily.
Horrible takedown by Shadow or perhaps it was just good defense by Mirinda which made him look bad.
Shadow shoots in but Mirinda avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Mirinda throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shadow was covering up waiting for the punch and Mirinda finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mirinda is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Mirinda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Shadow wants to sweep but no luck.
Shadow wants to improve his position but instead Mirinda has moved into half guard.
Shadow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Mirinda's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mirko Mirinda was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Mirinda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shadow pinned against the cage. Shadow gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mirinda working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Shadow slaps away a takedown attempt from Mirinda, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Night Shadow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mirko Mirinda.

Shadow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mirinda's waist but Mirinda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shadow off to one side.

Mirinda closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shadow to the mat! Shadow manages to get full guard.
Shadow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mirinda stands up and waves to Shadow to follow him.
Mirinda shoots for a double leg takedown but Shadow sprawls well. He's pushed Mirinda's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Shadow closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shadow lands in his opponent's guard.

Shadow is trying to reverse the position but instead Mirinda has taken his back - oops!
Shadow is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Mirinda has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Shadow is defending well but eventually Mirinda manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Shadow has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
