Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taheri is trying hard to land a takedown here. Balaia sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Taheri swings wildly with an uppercut but Balaia uses good head movement to avoid it.

Balaia jumps guard but Taheri stands there with Balaia around his waist. Balaia gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Taheri rushes Balaia and presses him up against the cage.
Balaia jumps guard but Taheri stands there with Balaia around his waist. Balaia gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Balaia tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Balaia blocks a body shot from Taheri.
Balaia is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Taheri escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Taheri looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Balaia is trying to maintain the position but Taheri is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Balaia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Taheri's waist but Taheri gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Balaia off to one side.
Taheri gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Taheri scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Balaia tries to bench press Taheri off him but Taheri keeps the position.
Taheri cracks Balaia with a big elbow.
Taheri has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Balaia is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Taheri yanks on the arm and Balaia is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Taheri.
