Bircheno takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Johnson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bircheno.
Steven Bircheno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bircheno lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.
A big left from Bircheno misses.
A chopping leg kick lands by Johnson.
Johnson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Bircheno tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Johnson rushes Bircheno and presses him up against the cage.
Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson scores a takedown into full mount!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Johnson quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Johnson but it's paid off an Bircheno is forced to tap! Nice work by Johnson.
