Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jokke Mela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry Glover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mela kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Da Rockwilder . Larry Glover has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jokke Mela's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glover throws a hook but Mela avoids it easily.
Mela jabs Glover right on the nose. Glover blinks but takes it well.
Glover wants to clinch.
Mela misses with a looping right.
Mela shoots for a takedown but Glover saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Glover moves away from the strike by Mela.
Glover swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mela lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Glover backs up against the cage.

and Mela counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Mela cracks Glover with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Mela counters with a nice uppercut.
Glover misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Glover tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mela paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mela throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Glover throws a shot from downtown. Mela moves away and avoids it.
Glover uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mela.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mela tries to score a power double leg takedown but Glover sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mela somewhat.

Mela closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Mela thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mela swings around for an armbar but Glover sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mela's guard.

Mela escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Glover gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Glover tries to free his leg and advance position but Mela is retaining full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Glover tries to bum rush Mela with a series of wild strikes but Mela uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Glover holds on and takes a little breather.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Glover throws a leg kick but Mela sees it coming and moves out of range.
Mela fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Glover avoids it really well and circles away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jokke Mela.
Glover fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mela on the side of the head.

Mela connects with a good right hand that stumbles Glover. Glover circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Mela's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Mela seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Glover for as long as he can get away with.
