Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hector Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boston Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez comes into the arena with Welcome to my Nightmare blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hector Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boston Dean!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez misses with a head kick.
Dean misses with a series of wild punches.

Dean fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hernandez sprawls well initially but Dean persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dean is pressing down on Hernandez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hernandez is holding on for now.
Hernandez is trying to stand.
Dean wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hernandez keeps working.

Hernandez makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Nice body kick from Hernandez.
Boston Dean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hernandez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dean.
Hernandez on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Dean circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dean fails with a takedown attempt.
Dean shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hernandez as he avoids it easily.
Dean scores with a nice strike.
Hernandez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dean swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hernandez pushes Dean up against the cage in a clinch.
Hernandez misses with an elbow strike.
Hernandez working Dean over with knees to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hernandez takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dean is working for takedown but Hernandez is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hector Hernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boston Dean.
Dean has Hernandez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hernandez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hernandez jumps guard and drags Dean to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dean accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dean trying to control the position from guard on top but Hernandez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hernandez is looking to stand up but Dean isn't so interested in that idea.
Dean passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Hernandez is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Dean working the head with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dean throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Dean wants to control but Hernandez is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dean in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hernandez wants to get back to his feet but Dean drags him back down.
Hernandez dodges the ground and pound from Dean.
Hernandez on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Dean trying to control the position but Hernandez is working away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dean throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Boston Dean will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Hernandez drives through and clinches with Dean against the cage.
Dean dodges an elbow strike from Hernandez.
Dean has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hernandez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hernandez jumps guard and drags Dean to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hernandez pushes Dean off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hernandez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dean manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Dean shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hernandez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dean looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hernandez is avoiding damage well.
Hernandez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Dean grinds an elbow into Hernandez's temple.

Dean is chipping away with strikes.

Hernandez bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Dean decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hernandez wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dean in particular looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Boston Dean hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hernandez rushes Dean and presses him up against the cage.
Hernandez pushes off an throws an elbow but Dean leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Hernandez drags the fight down to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hernandez wants to stand up but Dean is controlling him.
Dean must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dean throws a big elbow that misses.
Dean showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Dean chips away with some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dean trying to control but Hernandez is working from the bottom.
Hernandez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dean.
Boston Dean has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hernandez wants to stand up but Dean is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hernandez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hernandez tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dean avoids it.
Hernandez throws an elbow but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Boston Dean will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Dean.
Hernandez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dean shoots in for a takedown but Hernandez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Dean or perhaps it was just good defense by Hernandez which made him look bad.
Hector Hernandez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boston Dean.
Hernandez throws a sloppy head kick and Dean moves out of range easily.
Hernandez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dean stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hernandez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dean shoots in for a double leg but Hernandez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Hernandez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hernandez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hernandez pulls guard effortlessly.
Dean content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Dean wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving.
Dean postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Dean throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hernandez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dean working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hernandez wants to get back to his feet but Dean passes into half guard.
Dean throwing shots but Hernandez is blocking nicely.
Dean stalling.
Dean stalling away here and it's allowed Hernandez to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dean postures up in Hernandez's guard and throws a big left but Hernandez blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dean postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hernandez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dean.
Dean missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dean postures up in Hernandez's guard and throws a big left but Hernandez blocks it.
Dean tries to free his leg and advance position but Hernandez is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hernandez keeping moving, preventing Dean from controlling successfully.
Boston Dean is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hector Hernandez.
Dean misses with a takedown
and Hernandez counters with a leg kick.
Dean closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hernandez circles away.

Hernandez forces Dean back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hernandez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hernandez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hernandez manages to escape and get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Boston Dean.
I've got Dean winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Boston Dean misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
