Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enos Erikson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Drummond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Enos Erikson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arnold Drummond!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erikson fails with the takedown
and Drummond counters with an inside leg kick.
Drummond tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Erikson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Drummond throws a nice looking combination but Erikson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Erikson dives in and scores a takedown into Drummond's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Erikson postures up.
Erikson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Erikson wants to control from the top but Drummond keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Drummond throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Drummond misses with a leg kick.
Arnold Drummond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Erikson misses with a takedown attempt
and Drummond counters with a nice low kick that buckles Erikson's knee momentarily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enos Erikson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Erikson gets a double leg takedown into Drummond's guard.

Erikson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Erikson wants to work for an arm triangle but Drummond is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Erikson is trying to control the action in half guard but Drummond is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Drummond tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Erikson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Drummond is looking to improve his position but Erikson isn't that keen on the idea.
Erikson wants to control the pace but Drummond is squirming around nicely.

Erikson scores with a couple of good head shots there.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Erikson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Erikson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Drummond looks to throw the jab but Erikson is out of range.

We're going to have a standup here because Enos Erikson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Erikson looks for a takedown but Drummond sprawls well.

Drummond is looking for a sweep.
Drummond seems a little lost for a moment, as Erikson dominates the positioning.
Drummond tries to bench press Erikson off him but Erikson keeps the position.
The referee asks Erikson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Erikson prefers to stall for the moment though.

Erikson swings around for an armbar but Drummond sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Erikson's guard.

Erikson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drummond doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Drummond manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Erikson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drummond can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Erikson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Drummond defends well.

Drummond stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drummond wants it to stay on the feet.

Arnold Drummond has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A big right from Drummond misses.
Drummond ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Erikson moves away.
Erikson shoots and misses
and Drummond counters with an inside leg kick.
Erikson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Drummond pinned against the ropes. Drummond gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enos Erikson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Drummond enables Erikson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Drummond manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Erikson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Erikson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Erikson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Enos Erikson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Erikson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
