Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buford Tannen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Wheeler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Buford Tannen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ben Wheeler!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tannen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tannen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Sloppy strikes there by Tannen.
Tannen controlling the position from side mount.
Tannen is chipping away with strikes.
Tannen creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tannen fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Tannen lands some shots froms side control.
Wheeler is trying to get back to half guard.
Wheeler parries the strikes from Tannen easily there. Tannen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Wheeler to escape.

A lull in the action here as Tannen stalls from top position.
Tannen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tannen is trying to get an arm triangle but Wheeler is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tannen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tannen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wheeler is not content to let Tannen control the position.

Tannen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wheeler, who protects the arm well.
Tannen throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Wheeler is not content to let Tannen control the position.
Tannen scores with punches from side control.
Tannen throws an elbow but Wheeler slips to the side and avoids it well.
Wheeler is looking to reverse the position.
Tannen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wheeler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tannen in side control lands a decent elbow.
Tannen advances nicely into full mount.
Tannen lands a heavy elbow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wheeler is in a horrible position here. Tannen smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Tannen is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Wheeler hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Buford Tannen!
After winning the bout, Buford Tannen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
