Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Bex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Theoran Fleury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bex's entrance music is French. A fine choice. Fleury has chosen Oh Canada! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fleury has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fleury bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bex's head.
Bex on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Fleury swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bex avoids the head kick by Fleury.
Theoran Fleury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fleury swats away the attempt to clinch by Bex.
Bex fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bex with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fleury to score with a decent uppercut.
Bex shoots in for a takedown but Fleury shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fleury throws a series of strikes that have Bex backpedaling.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fleury connects with a looping right hand.
Bex takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Fleury has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Fleury leaves Bex with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown by Bex or perhaps it was just good defense by Fleury which made him look bad.

Bex dives in and grabs Fleury's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fleury pushes down on Bex's head and hops out.
Bex tries to close the distance and clinch but Fleury swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Bex fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fleury to the ground. Bex is now in Fleury's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bex drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fleury manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bex has Fleury in his guard.

Bex wants to stand but Fleury is controlling the position.

Bex looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fleury sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bex's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fleury is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bex defends it well.
Bex knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fleury on the ground.
Fleury stalling away here and it's allowed Bex to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Bex tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fleury wants to control from the top but Bex keeps moving.

The fighters circle momentarily. Fleury darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bex fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fleury avoids it really well and circles away.

Bex takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fleury buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fleury scores with a head kick. Bex tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Fleury connects with a leg kick. Bex looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Bex takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Fleury lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Fleury lands with an uppercut that bounces Bex off the cage and back into range.
Bex changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fleury tries to avoid it but Bex manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fleury to the ground. Fleury escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bex looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fleury is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bex takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Theoran Fleury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bex shoots for a takedown but Fleury saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Fleury is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bex is aware though and is defending well.

Fleury is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bex frees his head nicely. Oh but Fleury has switched to an armbar! Bex is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

After the fight, Theoran Fleury was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
