Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Franko Begbie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johannes Liechtenauer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Begbie comes to the ring accompanied by Lonely Island - Jizz in My Pants. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Johannes Liechtenauer!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Begbie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Begbie cracks a nice hook into Liechtenauer's ribs.
Begbie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No joy there for Begbie, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Liechtenauer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Liechtenauer loads up on a big right hand but Begbie slips the punch.
Some wild striking there from Begbie.
Liechtenauer misses with a head kick.
Nice body punch from Begbie.
Begbie misses with a body punch
and Liechtenauer counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Franko Begbie has been cut.
Liechtenauer throws a head kick but Begbie moves out of range.

and Begbie counters with a three punch combo that has Liechtenauer backing up. Liechtenauer nods at Begbie to acknowledge the strikes.

Begbie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Begbie counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Begbie is looking to slow Liechtenauer down with leg kicks.

Johannes Liechtenauer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Liechtenauer misses with a lunging right hand
and Begbie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Liechtenauer throws a head kick that misses
and Begbie counters with a stiff right hand.
Begbie thuds a left hand into Liechtenauer's body.
Begbie lands with a nice body punch.
Liechtenauer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Begbie scores with a nice right hand.
Begbie closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Begbie blocks a head kick by Liechtenauer.

Liechtenauer gets a clinch.

Begbie has picked Liechtenauer up - he's going for a ride! Begbie dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Liechtenauer is not content to let Begbie control the position.

Begbie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Liechtenauer defends it well.
Liechtenauer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Begbie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Begbie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Liechtenauer is just riding it out for now. Begbie eventually gives up the hold.
Liechtenauer tries to roll over but Begbie keeps him under control.

Begbie is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Liechtenauer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Liechtenauer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Begbie defends well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Begbie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Liechtenauer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Begbie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Begbie with a flurry of punches that miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Begbie avoids the head kick by Liechtenauer.

Begbie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Liechtenauer quickly recovers to half guard.
Begbie is trying to control the action in half guard but Liechtenauer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Liechtenauer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Begbie pulls his head out easily.

Begbie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Liechtenauer tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Begbie has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Begbie working for a submission but Liechtenauer is keeping him at bay.
The referee warns Liechtenauer that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Liechtenauer is wriggling around trying to escape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Begbie wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Begbie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Begbie has hold of Liechtenauer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Liechtenauer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Begbie wants to control the pace but Liechtenauer is squirming around nicely.
Liechtenauer sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Begbie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Liechtenauer is just riding it out for now. Begbie eventually gives up the hold.
Begbie wants to control but Liechtenauer is keeping him busy.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Begbie in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Liechtenauer tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Begbie!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Franko Begbie!
After winning the bout, Franko Begbie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
