Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pee Wee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse !
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wee scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Shouse looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Wee taking a break here but Shouse is having none of it and regains half guard.
Wee slips a nice elbow through Shouse 's hands, connecting with Shouse 's forehead.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shouse can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wee tries to pass to full mount but Shouse defends it.
Wee slows the pace down in half guard.
Shouse trying to control here.
Wee is pressing down on Shouse 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shouse is holding on for now.

Wee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shouse is just riding it out for now. Wee eventually gives up the hold.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pee Wee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Wee feints and as Shouse raises his hands in defense, Wee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wee trying to control the position from guard on top but Shouse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shouse had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wee defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Wee throws a series of punches but Shouse moves out of range.

Wee closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shouse quickly recovers to half guard.
Shouse is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wee's back!
Wee is really stuck here.
Wee wants to control his opponent's hands but Shouse gets his hands free.
Shouse controlling well, preventing Wee from escaping the position.
Wee just trying to survive but Shouse is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shouse is breathing heavily.
Shouse has the hooks in. Wee is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Wee looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Wee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shouse on the ground.
Wee is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Pee Wee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You can see the frustration on Wee's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Wee trying to control the position but Shouse manages to sink in the hooks.
Wee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wee is staying active underneath Shouse , who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Wee tries to kick Shouse off but Shouse keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Wee is looking for a sweep. Shouse is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Shouse slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Well Wee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
