PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kicky McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jong Bak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kicky McGee has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kicky McGee seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kicky McGee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jong Bak!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee throws a head kick that Bak semi-blocks.

It looks like Jong Bak has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
McGee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Bak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McGee tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bak is in McGee's guard.
Bak trying to control the position from guard on top but McGee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bak has gone for a leg lock! McGee slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bak's guard.

McGee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bak is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

McGee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McGee wants to stand but Bak has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Bak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGee is aware though and is defending well.

McGee stands up and waves to Bak to follow him.
Bak fails with the takedown
and McGee counters with a leg kick.
Bak takes one to the chin there.
Kicky McGee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bak avoids the head kick by McGee.
McGee throws a head kick that misses.
Bak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGee circles away quickly and effectively.
Bak falls off balance throwing a combination
and McGee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bak tries for a takedown but McGee circles away easily
and McGee makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bak stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McGee.
Bak looks gassed!
Bak shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGee pinned against the cage. McGee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kicky McGee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jong Bak.
McGee throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bak.
An inside leg kick lands from McGee.
A head kick misses from McGee.
Bak blocks a head kick by McGee.
McGee stuffs the takedown.
Bak is trying hard to land a takedown here. McGee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

McGee connects with a solid leg kick.
McGee and Bak are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. McGee throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Bak into next week! Ooooh that was huge! McGee knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
