PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mick Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoy has chosen Go Ninja-Vanilla Ice as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lath Hoy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Dundee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lath Hoy!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dundee is looking to score with low kicks.
Mick Dundee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dundee shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hoy checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dundee, right into the meat.
Hoy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Dundee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dundee doesn't seem bothered though.
Dundee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hoy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hoy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Hoy is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Dundee defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Dundee is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Hoy is looking for the choke from the back position but Dundee is controlling his hands well.

Hoy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dundee is just riding it out for now. Hoy eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hoy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

I've got Hoy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
