Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quinton Palmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer throws the kick towards the body but Wilson avoids it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wilson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Palmer stuffs the takedown.

A left and a right from Wilson both land. Nice combination.
Quinton Palmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilson wants to clinch up but Palmer keeps it at a distance.

Palmer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wilson defends it well.

Palmer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wilson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The is referee keeping an eye on Wilson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Palmer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wilson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Palmer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wilson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Wilson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Quinton Palmer will probably get the nod.

Wilson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Palmer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wilson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Palmer's back instead.
