The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson has a takedown stuffed.
Patterson shoots in and drives through. Cianciulli sprawls well.
Cianciulli tries to work over Patterson's front leg with a kick but Patterson checks it.
Cianciulli throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cianciulli stuffs the takedown.
Giovanni Cianciulli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Patterson.
Cianciulli fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Patterson is out of range.
Patterson throws a jab but it's blocked by Cianciulli.

Patterson dives in and scores a takedown into Cianciulli's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Patterson throws a big elbow that misses.
Patterson trying to control but Cianciulli is working from the bottom.

Patterson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Patterson seems to have locked his on tight now - Cianciulli screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Patterson, as he picks up the win!
