PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy has chosen SAY IT TO MY FACE as his entrance music. Rick Ross has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Hardy!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ross throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice jab there from Ross.
Hardy tries to clinch there but Ross circles away.
Jeff Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hardy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ross napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ross trying to remain calm as Hardy controls from the top position.
Ross defending against the ground and pound.
Ross is pushing Hardy's head away, looking to escape. Hardy manages to hold on to the position though.
Hardy creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hardy working the ground and pound but Ross is defending the strikes.

Hardy stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hardy shoots for a takedown but Ross saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hardy fails with a takedown attempt.
Rick Ross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Hardy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardy throws a series of punches but Ross moves out of range.
Hardy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ross tries to avoid it but Hardy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ross to the ground. Ross escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rick Ross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hardy has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hardy there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hardy slips a jab and a cross from Ross.
Hardy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ross's waist but Ross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hardy off to one side.
Hardy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hardy looks gassed!
A left lands for Ross.
A clash of legs there as Hardy blocks the low kick.
Ross stuffs the takedown.
Ross misses with a few strikes there.
Ross tests Hardy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Ross connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ross fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ross displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hardy.
Ross is pawing at Hardy, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Hardy's nose. Hardy is badly hurt! Ross pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Hardy tries desperately to hold on but Ross is relentless in his assault! As Hardy receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Ross away and this one is in the books!
