Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vedran Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chakrabongse Bhuvanath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vedran Russo had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bhuvanath throws a head kick that misses
and Russo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bhuvanath leaves Russo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Russo shoots in but Bhuvanath avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bhuvanath shoots in looking for a takedown. Russo tries to sprawl out of it but Bhuvanath keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Russo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bhuvanath tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Russo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Russo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bhuvanath.

Bhuvanath closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Russo to the mat! Russo manages to get full guard.
Russo wants to stand up but Bhuvanath is controlling him.
Russo is trying to control the position but Bhuvanath postures up.
Russo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Russo stuffs the takedown attempt from Bhuvanath. Bhuvanath gets slowly back to his feet.
Russo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Russo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bhuvanath pinned against the cage. Bhuvanath gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bhuvanath shoots in looking for a takedown. Russo tries to sprawl out of it but Bhuvanath keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Russo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Russo dives in and grabs Bhuvanath's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bhuvanath pushes down on Russo's head and hops out.
Bhuvanath slaps away a takedown attempt from Russo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Russo lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Russo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Bhuvanath tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Russo just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bhuvanath is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Russo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bhuvanath thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Vedran Russo will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Horrible takedown by Russo or perhaps it was just good defense by Bhuvanath which made him look bad.
Russo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bhuvanath sprawls well. Bhuvanath wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Russo gets slowly back to his feet.
Russo wants to clinch up but Bhuvanath keeps it at a distance.

Bhuvanath steps in with a hook that catches Russo right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Bhuvanath follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Russo looks absolutely devastated.
