Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sisnik Shala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shala comes to the cage accompanied by random. Michael Watson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sisnik Shala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Watson!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Watson - just one landing.
Watson throws a right hand that Shala ducks under and follows up with a left that Shala also avoids with ease.
Shala misses with a takedown
and Watson counters with a big head kick but Shala shrugs it off.
Shala showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Watson.
Watson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Watson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Shala counters with a nice double leg into side control. Watson won't be happy with that.
Watson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shala.
Watson sneaks back into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shala is working for a submission of some sort.

Watson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Watson keeping hold of Shala's head, controlling as best he can.
Shala missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Watson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Shala wants to lay and pray for a moment but Watson keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Michael Watson.
Watson throws a right hand that Shala ducks under and follows up with a left that Shala also avoids with ease.

Watson lands with a kick to the temple. Shala shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Shala shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Watson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Shala drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Watson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The strikes coming from Shala are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Watson dodges the ground and pound from Shala.
Watson is looking for a sweep.
Sloppy strikes there by Shala.
Watson is looking to regain half guard here but Shala keeps moving and retains side control.

You can see the frustration on Watson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Watson is not content to let Shala control the position.

Shala wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Watson, who protects the arm well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sisnik Shala will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Shala shoots in for a takedown but Watson shows good takedown defense.
Watson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Watson misses the shot to the body.
Watson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Watson misses with a double jab.
Shala shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Watson defends it nicely.
A nice inside leg kick there by Watson. That's going to slow Shala down.

Watson moves into the clinch.

Shala goes for a takedown attempt but Watson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sisnik Shala. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Watson counters with a low kick, right behind Shala 's knee.
Watson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Shala counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Watson is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Watson throws a right and a left that Shala avoids nicely.
Watson misses with a double jab.
Watson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Watson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shala circles away quickly and effectively.

and Watson counters with a body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Watson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Shala shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shala was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Watson wants to hold on but Shala pushes him away.
Watson is trying to escape the mount.
Watson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shala. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Watson is squirming around, avoiding Shala's attempts to control the action.

Shala goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Watson is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Watson passes into half guard.

Watson winds up and cracks Shala with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Watson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Watson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Shala works his way to full guard. Good work.

Watson connects with a couple of short punches.

Watson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Watson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shala manages to avoid it.
Shala tries for a takedown but Watson circles away easily
and Watson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Watson throws a right hand that Shala ducks under and follows up with a left that Shala also avoids with ease.
Shala on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shala slips under a jab from Watson.
Watson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Shala fails with the takedown
and Watson counters with a body kick that stops Shala in his tracks momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Watson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Watson counters with a one-two to the body.
Watson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Shala misses with a takedown attempt

and Watson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Watson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Shala is trying to keep an underhook but Watson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Sisnik Shala overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Watson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Watson wants to stand up but Shala has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Shala wants to improve his position but Watson is controlling well.
Shala could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shala makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shala.

Watson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Shala shoots and misses
and Watson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Watson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Shala really felt that one!

Shala on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Watson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Shala changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Watson tries to avoid it but Shala manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Watson to the ground. Watson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Watson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shala's calf.

Shala shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Watson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A solid leg kick lands there for Watson.

Sisnik Shala is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Watson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Michael Watson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shala shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Watson counters with a stiff right hand.
Watson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Watson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Shala looks for a takedown but Watson sprawls well.

Watson throws a series of punches but Shala avoids them all with ease.
Shala shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Watson but Watson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Watson tries to bum rush Shala with a series of wild strikes but Shala uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Watson stalks Shala and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shala's face. Shala staggers backwards, shaken.
Watson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shala.

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Watson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Watson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
