Mariachi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vongkhamchanh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mariachi has Vongkhamchanh in his guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mariachi holds on and takes a little breather.
Vongkhamchanh postures up in Mariachi's guard and throws a big left but Mariachi blocks it.

Vongkhamchanh throws an elbow that misses. Mariachi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vongkhamchanh's guard. Nice move by Mariachi!

Mariachi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vongkhamchanh looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vongkhamchanh looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vongkhamchanh!
Mariachi can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mariachi takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Vongkhamchanh looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mariachi is avoiding damage well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mariachi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vongkhamchanh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mariachi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Vongkhamchanh has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mariachi but great work by Vongkhamchanh.

Mariachi shoots for a double leg takedown but Vongkhamchanh sprawls well. He's pushed Mariachi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mariachi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Vongkhamchanh.
Vongkhamchanh shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mariachi eats them both and turns towards Vongkhamchanh to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
