Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Olec Maybry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Hodgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Olec Maybry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maybry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Maybry in the domination position with Hodgins hanging on.
Hodgins is looking to regain half guard here but Maybry keeps moving and retains side control.
Maybry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hodgins gets back to half guard.
Maybry wants to free his trapped foot but Hodgins is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hodgins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maybry's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maybry's back!

Hodgins is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Maybry up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maybry prevents Hodgins from getting a body triangle.

Hodgins lands with a hammerfist to the side of Maybry's head.

Hodgins is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Maybry defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Hodgins lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
You can see the frustration on Maybry's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
A lull in the action here.
Hodgins scores with punches and elbows.
Maybry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hodgins is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hodgins gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hodgins gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hodgins apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Hodgins shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hodgins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Maybry is in trouble now - Hodgins has advanced to mount!
Hodgins is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Hodgins wants to finish this one by submission but Maybry is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hodgins.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hodgins cracks Maybry with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
