Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 33 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Goran Schwarzeneg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cid Wakka!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wakka misses with a jab, cross combination.
Schwarzeneg is looking to clinch but Wakka is avoiding it.

Schwarzeneg looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wakka working a defensive guard but Schwarzeneg manages to pass into side control anyway.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wakka can do anything to dispel that myth.
You can see the frustration on Wakka's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wakka is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Schwarzeneg is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Schwarzeneg scoring with strikes but Wakka is staying in there.
Schwarzeneg lands a nice shot to the head.
Wakka tries to reverse the position but Schwarzeneg maintains control.
Schwarzeneg takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wakka wants to control but Schwarzeneg is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Goran Schwarzeneg.
Schwarzeneg fails to land the takedown.
Schwarzeneg misses with a straight left.
No luck for Schwarzeneg with that takedown attempt.
Wakka showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Schwarzeneg.
Schwarzeneg shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wakka pinned against the cage. Wakka gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Wakka looking to sit in guard and control but Schwarzeneg gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wakka wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Schwarzeneg is now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schwarzeneg is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Wakka trying to hold on to Schwarzeneg's head to control him but Schwarzeneg postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wakka walks into a left hand.
Schwarzeneg throws a body kick that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Schwarzeneg wants to clinch but Wakka slips to the side
and Wakka counters with a left and a right that stings Schwarzeneg.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wakka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wakka tries to clinch but Schwarzeneg is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Goran Schwarzeneg dominated that round.

Schwarzeneg closes the distance looking to clinch

and Wakka counters with a crisp one two that drops Schwarzeneg! Wakka thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Schwarzeneg to his feet! Schwarzeneg is in big trouble!


Schwarzeneg is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schwarzeneg throws a nice looking combination but Wakka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wakka circles away from the clinch attempt.
Schwarzeneg just misses with a punch to the body.
Goran Schwarzeneg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wakka has his takedown stuffed
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Schwarzeneg defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wakka.

Schwarzeneg closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wakka's guard.
Schwarzeneg controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Wakka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Goran Schwarzeneg just wasn't active enough.
Wakka circles away from the clinch attempt
letting Wakka counter with a right hand.
Schwarzeneg keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Goran Schwarzeneg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cid Wakka.
A lazy left from Schwarzeneg finds it's target.
Schwarzeneg's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wakka connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Schwarzeneg scrambles back to his feet.

Wakka fails in his attempt to clinch.
Schwarzeneg looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Left hook, right uppercut from Wakka.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Schwarzeneg rushes Wakka and presses him up against the cage.

Schwarzeneg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Schwarzeneg closes the distance and clinches.

Schwarzeneg is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wakka can't fight it off and eventually Schwarzeneg manages to take the fight to the floor. Wakka looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wakka wants to stand up but Schwarzeneg is controlling him.
Schwarzeneg pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wakka is keeping the position for now.

Schwarzeneg sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Wakka is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Schwarzeneg gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Wakka uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Schwarzeneg.

Schwarzeneg shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wakka is wriggling around but Schwarzeneg manages to pass to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Schwarzeneg escapes and gets back to his feet.
Schwarzeneg cracks a nice hook into Wakka's ribs.
Schwarzeneg throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wakka counters with a series of strikes. Schwarzeneg will be more careful next time no doubt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schwarzeneg moves to clinch but Wakka breaks away
and Wakka counters with a three punch combo that has Schwarzeneg backing up. Schwarzeneg nods at Wakka to acknowledge the strikes.
Oh Schwarzeneg is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schwarzeneg throws a right and a left that both miss.
Schwarzeneg seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Wakka counters with a crisp one two that drops Schwarzeneg! Wakka thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Schwarzeneg to his feet! Schwarzeneg is in big trouble!
Schwarzeneg gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Wakka gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cid Wakka!
