The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Overeem wants to clinch but Sloan slips to the side
and Sloan counters with a nice uppercut.

Overeem drives through and clinches with Sloan against the cage.
Sloan jumps guard but Overeem stands there with Sloan around his waist. Sloan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sloan wants a takedown.
Overeem jumps guard but Sloan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Sloan is looking to break free of the clinch but Overeem has double underhooks.
Overeem with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Overeem tries to pull guard but Sloan holds him up against the cage and eventually Overeem drops back down to his feet.

Overeem tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Overeem could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sloan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Overeem landing knees to the head.
Overeem tries to pull guard but Sloan won't allow it.
Overeem fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Sloan jumps guard.
Sloan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Overeem wants to pass the guard but Sloan is keeping the position.

Overeem drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sloan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Overeem has Sloan in his guard.
Overeem keeping moving, preventing Sloan from controlling successfully.

Sloan tries to free his leg and advance position but Overeem is retaining full guard.

Sloan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sloan is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Overeem has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Sloan is looking to defend but Overeem has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Sloan! Overeem pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Sloan taps out and this one is all over!
