PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikita Koloff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Koloff pushes him off.
Koloff fails to land the takedown.
Nice sprawl there from Koloff as Smith shoots in.
Smith tries to clinch up.
Smith shoots in and drives through. Koloff sprawls well.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Koloff shows good takedown defense.

Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Koloff manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Koloff can't break the clinch.
Smith tries a knee to the head but Koloff blocks it.
Smith manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Koloff has Smith pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Smith manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Koloff is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Smith is defending well for now.

Smith tries to pull guard but Koloff holds him up against the cage and eventually Smith drops back down to his feet.
Koloff blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Smith has managed to clinch.
Koloff is trying to break the clinch but Smith has him pressed against the cage.
Smith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Koloff smiles and moves away.
Koloff fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Koloff manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Koloff shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Koloff keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Koloff rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage.
Koloff is looking to take this one to the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Koloff gets a clinch.
Koloff wants to get back to striking at distance but Smith won't allow it.

Koloff tries to score a body lock takedown but Smith shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Koloff ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Koloff no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Smith distracts Koloff with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Koloff's head.
Smith is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Koloff is retaining full guard.
Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Smith postures up and lands a big shot to Koloff's brow.

Smith drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Koloff dives on top into guard.

Koloff shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith defends it nicely.

Koloff throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.

Koloff really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Koloff has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.
Smith lands a couple of digs.
Smith controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Koloff avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Koloff gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Koloff manages to retain guard.
Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Koloff has wrist control.

Smith postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Koloff had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.

Koloff is trying to control the position here. Smith has hold of a guillotine from the top though... oh, that looks naaaaasty, will Koloff tap? Yes he will! The fight is all over! Smith jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd.
