Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kazuya Takeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shingo Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shingo Park will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuya Takeshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shingo Park!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeshi looks to land a combination but Park avoids it well.
Takeshi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Takeshi moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Takeshi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Park takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Takeshi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Takeshi seems to be working for a kimura but Park defends the submission attempt.

Takeshi decides to return to a standing position.

Park throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Park lands with a kick to the ribs.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Takeshi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Park - the referee stops the clock and Takeshi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Park. Takeshi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Shingo Park is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takeshi walks forward, straight into a front kick from Park.
Takeshi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Takeshi steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Park. That one must have hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Park buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Park shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Park misses with an uppercut

and Takeshi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Takeshi.
Park wants to sweep but no luck.
Park manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Takeshi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Takeshi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Park cracks Takeshi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Park lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Takeshi chipping away with body shots but they're not going to hurt Park.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Takeshi wants to hold on but Park pushes him away.
Park blocks Takeshi's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Park really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takeshi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Takeshi slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Takeshi gets full guard.
Takeshi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Park's guard.

Takeshi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Takeshi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kazuya Takeshi will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Shingo Park seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Park's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
