Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pete Sproles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taro Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sproles's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, can't be touched -Roy Jones Jr. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sproles shoots in looking for a takedown. Mishima tries to sprawl out of it but Sproles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mishima manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mishima works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Sproles needs to keep his hands up - Mishima had a free shot at his head there.
Sproles fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Mishima goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sproles has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mishima but great work by Sproles.

Mishima tries to clinch up but Sproles circles away and keeps his distance.
Mishima throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sproles's waist but Sproles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mishima off to one side.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

You can see the frustration on Sproles's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mishima remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sproles missing with a left hand there. Mishima was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sproles lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mishima is on top in guard.
Mishima stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sproles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sproles is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mishima postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sproles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mishima, into his guard.

Well Mishima has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
