Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frederic Laurent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laurent's entrance music is Tropa de Elite. A fine choice. Kazushi Sakuraba told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurent rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sakuraba moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sakuraba takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Laurent keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sakuraba.
Sakuraba throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Laurent.
Laurent connects with an inside leg kick.
Sakuraba is looking to clinch.
Sakuraba misses with a looping right.
Laurent fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sakuraba misses with the combination.

A solid leg kick lands there for Laurent.
Sakuraba shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laurent but Laurent pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Laurent keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Laurent turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sakuraba takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

A solid leg kick lands there for Laurent.

Laurent throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Sakuraba looks gassed!
Laurent's jab looks to have found its range, popping Sakuraba under the eye.
Sakuraba takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Sakuraba takes one to the side of the head.
Sakuraba takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Frederic Laurent is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Laurent connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Laurent lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sakuraba's sensitive parts.
A chopping leg kick lands by Laurent.
Laurent thuds his right hand into Sakuraba's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Laurent has Sakuraba up against the cage in a clinch.

Laurent cracks Sakuraba with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Laurent misses with a two punch combination.
Sakuraba gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Laurent connects with a leg kick. Sakuraba looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Sakuraba chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Laurent can pounce on him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Laurent lands a big right hand that sends Sakuraba crashing to the mat! Laurent stays standing though and waves Sakuraba back to his feet!
Sakuraba is rocked!
An inside leg kick lands from Laurent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Sakuraba's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Laurent slips a straight right by Sakuraba.
Laurent throws a front kick that sends Sakuraba stumbling back into the cage.
Laurent fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sakuraba has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Sakuraba takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sakuraba is breathing heavily.

Laurent thumps Sakuraba with a low kick.
Laurent sends Sakuraba crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Laurent is motioning to the referee to let Sakuraba up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Sakuraba is still on wobbly legs! Can Laurent finish him?
It looks like Kazushi Sakuraba has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Laurent thuds his shin into the meat of Sakuraba's side.
Laurent lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Sakuraba doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Laurent engages and cracks Sakuraba with a massive lead left hook - Sakuraba tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Laurent is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frederic Laurent!
