Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Erik Bariles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bariles comes to the cage accompanied by Thriller by Michael Jackson. Torres is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Old Way's. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Miguel Torres!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bariles throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Torres sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bariles missing with a left hand there. Torres was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Torres throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bariles steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Torres.
Bariles throws a lazy right hand but Torres sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Torres is defended easily by Bariles.
Bariles misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Torres.

Torres changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bariles tries to avoid it but Torres manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bariles to the ground. Bariles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bariles throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bariles connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Bariles throws a good cross that connects.
Bariles misses with a series of wild punches.
Bariles uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Torres.

Bariles misses with a two punch combination.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bariles, as that shot connected.
Bariles is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Torres takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Torres shoots in for a takedown but Bariles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bariles lands a slapping body shot.
Torres misses with a takedown attempt - Bariles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Torres dives in and grabs Bariles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bariles pushes down on Torres's head and hops out.

Torres shoots for a double leg takedown but Bariles sprawls well. He's pushed Torres's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bariles is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Torres asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Torres throws a strike aimed at the side of Bariles's head but Bariles avoids it well.
Bariles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Torres wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Torres scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bariles to see if he's OK.

Torres cracks Bariles with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Miguel Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Torres working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bariles turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Torres off and cradles Bariles's limp body as Torres celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Miguel Torres!
After winning the bout, Miguel Torres thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
