Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Austin Voltron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Castillo has chosen Beautiful as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Austin Voltron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Castillo!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castillo fails to land the takedown.
Voltron throws a right hand that Castillo ducks under and follows up with a left that Castillo also avoids with ease.
Voltron circles away from the clinch attempt.
Some wild striking there from Voltron.
Castillo shoots in looking for a takedown. Voltron tries to sprawl out of it but Castillo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Voltron manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Castillo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Castillo lands in his opponent's guard.
Voltron wants to sweep here but Castillo controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Castillo needs to keep his hands up - Voltron had a free shot at his head there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Voltron.

Castillo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Voltron looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Castillo wants to control for a moment but Voltron uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Castillo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Voltron throws a big right hand that misses.
Voltron trying to control the position from guard on top but Castillo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Voltron will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Castillo is on top in guard.

Castillo looking to sit in guard and control but Voltron gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Castillo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Voltron passes into side control.

Voltron tries to move into full mount but can't pass Castillo's legs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Castillo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Voltron lands an elbow.
Castillo is looking to reverse the position.
Voltron scoring with punches and elbows.
Voltron gets to mount! Castillo was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The referee warns Castillo that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Voltron controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Voltron lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Castillo backs up against the cage.
Randy Castillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castillo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Castillo takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Castillo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Voltron looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Castillo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Voltron is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Voltron is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Castillo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Castillo's back!
Voltron is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Castillo up.
Voltron lands a shot to the head.
Can Castillo hold on?! Voltron is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Voltron lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Voltron has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Castillo.
Voltron is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Voltron lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Castillo hold on?!
Castillo is trying to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Voltron.
Voltron is hanging on to Castillo's back as he tries to escape.
Castillo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Castillo trying to control the hands but Voltron won't let him.
Voltron has the hooks in. Castillo is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Castillo looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Castillo can't escape the position.
Voltron doesn't have the hooks in and Castillo manages to turn into his guard.
Voltron throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Voltron wants to clinch

and Castillo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Voltron's guard.
Castillo wants to pass the guard but Voltron is keeping the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Voltron preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Castillo drops back looking for a leg! Voltron is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Voltron manages to kick Castillo off! Castillo jumps back into Voltron's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Austin Voltron will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Castillo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Voltron tries to avoid it but Castillo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Voltron to the ground. Voltron escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Castillo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Castillo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Castillo is looking for a kimura here.

Voltron flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Castillo is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Voltron has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Castillo is in bad spot here.
Castillo tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Randy Castillo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Voltron is keen to just control but Castillo is a slippery customer.

Voltron is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Castillo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Voltron looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Castillo is trying to stand up here but Voltron is controlling him well.
Castillo is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Voltron jumps into side control!
Voltron connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Castillo some visible discomfort.

Austin Voltron showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Voltron, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
