PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eleomar Cabbat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cru Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cabbat kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is U KNOW I GOT THAT. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabbat lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cabbat, pushing him back against the cage.
Cabbat wants a takedown.
Cabbat is trying to force a seperation but Jones has the dominant position.
Cabbat wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Cabbat looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Eleomar Cabbat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cru Jones.

Cabbat shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cabbat's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jones.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cabbat pinned against the cage. Cabbat gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cabbat fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cabbat throws a hook but Jones blocks it.
Cabbat ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Cabbat.
Cabbat lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.

Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cabbat's waist but Cabbat gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cabbat as he jumps to the side.
Cabbat scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cabbat drops Jones with a beautiful combination! Jones stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cabbat is looking for the KO!

That has opened up Cru Jones's cut even more.
Cabbat throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.

Cabbat closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A control attempt from Jones but he's now mounted!

Cabbat is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Nice body punch from Cabbat.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cabbat shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cabbat was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Cabbat stands up from mount. Strange move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Cabbat's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Cabbat lands a glancing blow to the side of Jones's head.
Cabbat throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Eleomar Cabbat is winning the standup battle so far.
Cabbat tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cabbat somewhat.

Cabbat shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jones napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Cabbat trying to control the position but Jones is working away.

Cabbat is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cabbat looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cabbat is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cabbat wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jones, who protects the arm well.

Cabbat is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jones is trying to get back to half guard.

Cabbat tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well.
Jones tries to buck Cabbat off but Cabbat is having none of it.

Cabbat swings around for an armbar but Jones sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cabbat's guard.

Cabbat is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jones is aware though and is defending well.

Eleomar Cabbat overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cabbat looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones cracks Cabbat with a solid left hand.

Jones has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Cabbat to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jones is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Cabbat pulls down on the head and he's put Jones to sleep! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Eleomar Cabbat thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
