Hickok comes to the cage accompanied by Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hickok does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Hickok goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

and Hickok counters with a left to the body.
Holmbom tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hickok swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bill Hickok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Holmbom tries to keep at a distance but Hickok has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hickok's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

With the fighters up against the cage, Holmbom throws an elbow but misses.
A right hook to the body lands for Hickok.
Hickok lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

That has opened up Johannah Holmbom's cut even more.
Hickok pushes Holmbom back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Hickok pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hickok throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Holmbom sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Hickok throws a head kick that misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hickok, right into the meat.
Hickok thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Holmbom if he has to take too many more of those.
Jab, jab by Hickok - just one landing.

Holmbom is rocked!
Hickok tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Holmbom was well out of range. Poor timing from Hickok.

Hickok waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Holmbom.
Hickok is looking to slow Holmbom down with leg kicks.
Hickok fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Holmbom has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hickok cracks Holmbom with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hickok has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Holmbom to stand back up!
Holmbom is still on wobbly legs! Can Hickok finish him?

The cut above Johannah Holmbom's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hickok dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Holmbom. That did some damage!
Hickok moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Are you kidding me?! Hickok ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Holmbom clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
