The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Takahari does no damage.
Takahari will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gracie throws a chopping leg kick but Takahari manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Takahari tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Takahari is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Takahari is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie is looking to advance position but Takahari won't allow it.

Gracie moves nicely into side control.
Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Takahari, who protects the arm well.
Takahari is looking for a sweep.
Takahari is breathing heavily.
Gracie is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Takahari looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gracie gets his head over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Takahari is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gracie lets go of the hold and Takahari can pop his arm back in it's socket.
