Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Pitney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masjid Amirpour (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amirpour has chosen Can't Turn You Loose as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Pitney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Masjid Amirpour!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amirpour thows a body shot but no joy.
Amirpour connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Pitney gets caught flat footed, as Amirpour shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pitney is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Amirpour is controlling him.
Amirpour looking to sit in guard and control but Pitney gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Amirpour keeping full guard, as Pitney tries to pass.
Amirpour looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Amirpour looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pitney is one step ahead there.
Pitney wants to control from the top but Amirpour keeps moving.

Pitney wants to get up but he can't break Amirpour's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Pitney trying to control but Amirpour is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eddie Pitney wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Pitney fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Amirpour ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pitney moves away.
Pitney closes this distance looking for a takedown but Amirpour circles away.
Pitney on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Amirpour pushes Pitney up against the cage in a clinch.
Amirpour stalling the fight.
Pitney is trying to break the clinch but Amirpour is controlling him.

Amirpour is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pitney can't fight it off and eventually Amirpour manages to take the fight to the floor. Pitney looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pitney wants to sweep but no luck.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pitney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Amirpour's guard.
Amirpour tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Amirpour is pulling down on Pitney's head. It's preventing any offense from Pitney, at least for the moment.
Amirpour working a defensive guard here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pitney wants to stand but Amirpour has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Amirpour managing to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Masjid Amirpour was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Amirpour loads up on a big right hand but Pitney slips the punch.

Amirpour scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Pitney is looking to regain half guard here but Amirpour keeps moving and retains side control.
Pitney is working hard here to advance position.
Amirpour lands an elbow.
Amirpour controlling from side mount.
Amirpour misses with the ground and pound.

Pitney is not content to let Amirpour control the position.
Pitney struggling a bit here.
Amirpour passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Pitney!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Amirpour lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pitney hang on?
Amirpour has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pitney's face.


Pitney is rocked!
Amirpour takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masjid Amirpour dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Pitney misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Pitney gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pitney controls Amirpour momentarily but Amirpour frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amirpour scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Oh Pitney is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Amirpour stands up over Pitney, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Amirpour slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Pitney seems to have got his legs back now.
Amirpour keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pitney's head.

Amirpour passes into half guard.
Amirpour trying to control from Pitney's half guard. Pitney has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Pitney keeping moving, preventing Amirpour from controlling successfully.
Amirpour slips nicely into half guard.
Amirpour missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Amirpour is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Pitney to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Amirpour postures up and lands a big shot to Pitney's brow.
Pitney wants to sweep here but Amirpour controlling him for the moment.

Pitney working for a triangle but Amirpour defends it easily.
Amirpour trying to control but Pitney is working from the bottom.
Amirpour postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Amirpour throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pitney keeping moving, preventing Amirpour from controlling successfully.
Pitney working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Amirpour.
Pitney lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Amirpour!

Pitney is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Amirpour throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pitney shoots in looking for a takedown but Amirpour manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pitney's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Amirpour throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Pitney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Amirpour's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Amirpour looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Pitney is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Amirpour is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Amirpour has escaped and now he's on top!

Amirpour trying to control the position from guard on top but Pitney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Amirpour might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pitney kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Amirpour accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Amirpour trying to control but Pitney is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masjid Amirpour showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Amirpour shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pitney napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Amirpour wants to control but Pitney is keeping him busy.
Pitney is trying to control Amirpour's posture but Amirpour avoids it.
A lull in the action here as Amirpour stalls from top position.
Amirpour cracks Pitney with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Amirpour working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Pitney seems a little lost for a moment, as Amirpour dominates the positioning.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pitney trying his best to control but Amirpour has mounted him.
The referee warns Pitney that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Amirpour misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Amirpour landing punches.
Pitney tries to reverse the position but Amirpour maintains control.
Pitney takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Amirpour's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Masjid Amirpour!
During a confident post fight interview, Masjid Amirpour thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
