The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bass shoots in looking for a takedown but York manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bass's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bass defending well as York loads up on a big left hand.
Nice sprawl there from York as Bass shoots in.
Bass keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
York misses with a series of wild punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bass is defended easily by York.
Joe York has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sora Bass.
Nice jab there from York.
It looks like Sora Bass has been cut.
York looks to land a right hand but Bass moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
York misses with a jab, cross combination.
York stuffs the takedown attempt from Bass. Bass gets slowly back to his feet.
York swinging wildly here.
York throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
York lands a left and a right that send Bass crashing to the mat, dazed. York thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bass is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
York finds Bass's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Bass flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. York lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Bass will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Joe York!
After winning the bout, Joe York thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
