Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iwao Saito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Iwao Saito!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saito changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Man looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A lull in the action here as Saito stalls from top position.
Saito is looking to take a break and control but Man is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Saito misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Man defending against the ground and pound.
Saito in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Saito sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Man is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Saito thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Saito postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man pushes Saito away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Saito gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Man managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Saito.
Saito lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Man is working to avoid the ground and pound but Saito connects with a decent elbow.


It looks like John Man has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Man dodges the ground and pound from Saito.
Saito working the head with strikes.
Man prevents Saito from improving position.
Saito connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Man some visible discomfort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Saito throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Saito tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Man is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Saito is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Saito has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Saito is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Man is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Saito creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Man sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The ground and pound from Saito seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Saito working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Man avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Saito.
Saito remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The strikes coming from Saito are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Man taking punishment in the form of punches.


John Man 's cut is getting worse.
Saito content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Saito tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Man is not content to let Saito control the position.

The referee asks Saito politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Saito prefers to stall for the moment though.
Saito trying to control the action but Man is working from the bottom.
Saito misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Man managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Saito.

Man takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.


Jeez, John Man 's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Man 's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Iwao Saito!
An intense looking Iwao Saito took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: '来てくれてありがとう、とQFCTをご支援いただきありがとうございます'.
