Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gunner State (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). State's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Blaze Of Glory by Bon Jovi. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 2, fighting out of New York, Gunner State!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Reese!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
State takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Reese fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but State avoids it really well and circles away.
Reese comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Reese checks the leg kick nicely there.
Reese fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Reese avoids the body shot from State.

Reese drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
State has his hands on Reese's head, controlling the position.
Reese trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Reese throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as State works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
State is pulling down on Reese's head to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reese drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reese jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Reese throws a big right hand that misses.
State trying to control the position.
Reese throws a strike but State rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
State wants to pass the guard but Reese is keeping the position.
State trying to control but Reese is working from the bottom.

State pushing down on Reese's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
State controlling the pace.
State prevents Reese from improving his position.

State wants to work for an arm triangle but Reese is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
State scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Reese tries to roll over but State keeps him under control.
Reese wants to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

State controlling the pace.
State is trying to control. Reese wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
State takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
State prevents Reese from improving his position.
Reese flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Reese misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Reese manages to get to full guard.
State trying to control the position from guard on top but Reese is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

State stays in close to Reese's body and controls the position.
State sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Reese's guard.
Reese avoiding damage under a succession of punches from State.
State thows a huge punch but Reese dodges it nicely.
Reese blocking the ground and pound attempt from State.
State works his way into full mount!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reese bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
State controlling Reese's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gunner State will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


State ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Reese blocks an uppercut.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Reese as State tries to tie him up.
State goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A head punch on the inside from State fails to land.
State prevents the takedown attempt.
State goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
State scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Reese lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down State.

A nice right hand lands inside from Reese.
State gets underhooks to prevent Reese's takedown attempt.
Reese takes a shot to the head.
Reese blocks an elbow strike from State.
A right hand to the body from Reese.
Reese is looking to take this one to the mat.
Gunner State has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Reese.
State lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Reese backwards.
State tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Reese tries to score a body lock takedown but State shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Reese digs a right hand into State's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on State's gas tank.
State tries to stall but Reese uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Reese goes for a takedown attempt but State pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reese. State does a little dance to reset his feet.

State gets a double leg takedown into Reese's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
State with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
State looking to sit in guard and control but Reese gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Reese throws a strike but State rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Reese keeping moving, preventing State from controlling successfully.
State passes into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. State connects with a nice short shot to Reese's temple.

Still in half guard, State seems content to control.
State throws a strike but Reese avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Gunner State overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
State looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Reese working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. State doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. State manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
State wants to control from the top but Reese keeps moving.

Reese has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but State can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
State controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Reese keeping moving, preventing State from controlling successfully.

Reese working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. State doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. State manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
State wants to control from the top but Reese keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reese is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gunner State dominated that second round.

and State makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

State is trying to escape the mount.
State holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Reese tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Reese fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Reese avoids the attempt from State to control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

State wants to control but Reese is having none of it.

State is positioning himself well to prevent Reese advancing to mount.
Reese throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

State slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Reese postures up.
Reese cracks State with a solid left hand.
State trying to keep a closed guard but Reese is proving a slippery customer.
State is really struggling to control Reese but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Reese trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
State looking to control.
Reese throws a big elbow that misses.
Reese preventing the sweep.

Reese postures up in State's guard and throws a big left but State blocks it.
Reese working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Reese stands up over State, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reese would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reese accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kyle Reese has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Reese missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
State wants to control the position but Reese says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
State tries to roll over but Reese keeps him under control.
State keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

I think State has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
