Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonardo Bassi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Dddddd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bassi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dddddd to the ground. Bassi is now in Dddddd's guard.
Bassi won't allow Dddddd to get back to his feet.
Dddddd is controlling Bassi's posture.
Bassi trying to control but Dddddd is working from the bottom.
Dddddd looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joseph Dddddd hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bassi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dddddd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bassi is looking to take a break and control but Dddddd is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dddddd manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Dddddd stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bassi to get to his feet.

Bassi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dddddd to the mat! Dddddd manages to get full guard.
Dddddd is looking to stand up but Bassi isn't so interested in that idea.

Bassi is fighting to break Dddddd's control of his arms but Dddddd is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Bassi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dddddd manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bassi has Dddddd in his guard.

Dddddd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dddddd throws a big elbow that misses.
Dddddd works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Bassi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dddddd pulls his head out easily.
Dddddd looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Dddddd wants to get back to his feet.

Dddddd wants to work for an arm triangle but Bassi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dddddd is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bassi!

Dddddd is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bassi has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Dddddd gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Dddddd throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bassi was covering up waiting for the punch and Dddddd finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Dddddd is looking to work some ground and pound but Bassi has wrist control.
Dddddd is pushing down on Bassi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bassi is fighting to maintain full guard but Dddddd has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dddddd thows a huge punch but Bassi dodges it nicely.

Bassi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dddddd is one step ahead there.

Dddddd tries to free his leg and advance position but Bassi is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dddddd stands and steps away. Bassi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dddddd closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bassi did well to prevent Dddddd getting side control.

Dddddd thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
