Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joabe Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claudio Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Claudio Dutra will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joabe Oliveira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Dutra!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oliveira throws a sloppy head kick and Dutra moves out of range easily.
Oliveira looks to clinch
and Oliveira takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Oliveira looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Oliveira wants to control from the top but Dutra keeps moving.
Dutra being controlled here, momentarily.
Dutra controls Oliveira momentarily but Oliveira frees himself.
Oliveira passes Dutra's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Oliveira is working for a kimura but Dutra is defending it quite comfortably.

Dutra is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Oliveira pulls his head out easily.

Dutra closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oliveira circles away.

Oliveira has taken the fight to the clinch.
Oliveira tries to pull guard but Dutra forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Dutra breaks from the clinch.
Oliveira throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dutra sprawls well. Dutra wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Oliveira gets slowly back to his feet.

Dutra digs a good body shot into Oliveira's ribs.
Horrible takedown by Oliveira or perhaps it was just good defense by Dutra which made him look bad.

Oliveira would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dutra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oliveira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oliveira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dutra gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dutra bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Oliveira is trying to escape the position but Dutra is controlling the position.

Dutra is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oliveira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dutra wants to control but Oliveira is keeping him busy.
Oliveira wants to control but Dutra postures up.
Oliveira is trying to get back to half guard.
Dutra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oliveira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Oliveira is not content to let Dutra control the position.

Dutra wants to take a breather but Oliveira manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Dutra.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Dutra decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Oliveira fails to land the takedown.
Dutra shoots in but no luck this time.
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dutra sprawls well. Dutra wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Oliveira gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oliveira seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dutra for as long as he can get away with.

A close second round but Claudio Dutra will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Dutra shoots in for a double leg but Oliveira sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Oliveira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dutra's waist but Dutra gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oliveira off to one side.

Oliveira is trying to control the action in half guard but Dutra is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dutra wants to improve his position but Oliveira is controlling well.
Oliveira is taking a breather. Dutra says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Dutra is trying to control but can't.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dutra enables Oliveira to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dutra manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Oliveira wants to pass the guard but Dutra is keeping the position.
Dutra wants to sweep here but Oliveira controlling him for the moment.
Dutra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dutra is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Oliveira pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Dutra keeps control of Oliveira as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Oliveira tries to score a body lock takedown but Dutra shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Oliveira jumps guard and drags Dutra to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
