Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Paru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Helio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paru comes to the cage accompanied by Tropa de Elite, osso duro de roer. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Paru.
Paru rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Paru misses with a few strikes there.

Paru fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.
Paru will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Silva up against the cage.
Paru is pressed up against the cage. Silva has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Paru down to the mat. Paru avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Paru clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
Silva is looking to take this one to the mat.

Paru tightens his grip and picks Silva up, before dumping him to the ground. Silva manages to land in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Paru is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Paru defends it easily.
Paru knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Paru misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Paru thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Paru is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Paru stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Paru throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Paru is in Silva's guard.

Paru got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Paru has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Paru sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.
Silva is still in real trouble! Can Paru finish him?
Paru wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Paru in particular looking to stall.
Paru scores with a big shot! Silva's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Silva! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
