PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alfons Aberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Imum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Imum has chosen Candy Paint - Ken Tuck as his entrance music. Max Imum told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Imum!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aberg tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Imum shoots for a double leg takedown but Aberg sprawls well. He's pushed Imum's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Imum cracks Aberg with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

It looks like Alfons Aberg has been cut.
A telegraphed right hand from Imum misses the target.
Aberg ducks right into an uppercut from Imum.

Aberg is rocked!
Aberg throws a hook to the side of Imum's head but Imum sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Aberg displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Imum throws out the jab.
Aberg moves out of range as Imum strikes.
Imum throws a leg kick that is checked
and Aberg counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Imum looks to land a left hand but Aberg moved out of range nicely.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Imum! Aberg is out on his feet! Imum rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Aberg is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Aberg is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
