Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sebastiaan Hoost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Faure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoost kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Redemption Song. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Travis Faure enters the cage!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastiaan Hoost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Faure!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoost tries a head kick but it misses.
Hoost leaves Faure with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Faure waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hoost.
Hoost lands a leg kick that knocks Faure off balance momentarily.
Faure slips under a jab from Hoost.
Hoost pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoost throws a leg kick

and Faure decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hoost's guard.

Faure drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hoost looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hoost looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hoost!

Faure is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Hoost wants to lay and pray for a moment but Faure keeps working.
Faure has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hoost is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Faure is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Faure is looking for a sweep.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoost is looking to take a break and control but Faure is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that Sebastiaan Hoost will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Faure postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hoost is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Faure, into his guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hoost holds on and takes a little breather.

Faure throws an elbow that misses. Hoost uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Faure's guard. Nice move by Hoost!

Hoost stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Faure swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hoost is pushing down on Faure's leg trying to pass to half guard. Faure is fighting to maintain full guard but Hoost has managed to sneak the leg through.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Faure tries to roll over but Hoost keeps him under control.
Faure is staying active underneath Hoost, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Travis Faure showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Faure fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hoost avoids it really well and circles away.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hoost, right into the meat.
Hoost goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and Faure counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hoost does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Hoost lands a leg kick that knocks Faure off balance momentarily.

Faure avoids the head kick by Hoost.
Hoost throws a jab but it's blocked by Faure.

Horrible takedown by Faure or perhaps it was just good defense by Hoost which made him look bad.
Hoost wants to land a leg kick but Faure is out of range.
Hoost lands with a thumping leg kick.
Faure fails with a takedown attempt.
Hoost is looking to land body kicks.
Faure throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Faure takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
