Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seth Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bedows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bedows wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bedows circles away.

and Bedows decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bedows is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bedows's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bedows's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Johnson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Seth Johnson.
Well Bedows has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
